Vision West Nottinghamshire College is seeking to appoint a Head of Department for Engineering, Education and Training and Apprenticeships. Our Engineering department has the potential for rapid growth and is key to our local community and its employers, which is evidenced by our future plans for investment in our Engineering Innovation Centre, its machinery and facilities.

We are looking for an outstanding leader who understands both the engineering and education sector, the current priorities, challenges and their relevance to the department as well as the wider College. The purpose of this role is to lead and inspire the department to provide excellent teaching and learning resulting in outstanding outcomes for our students and apprentices.

The post holder will be part of a directorate led by an Assistant Principal. You will be accountable for the success of your department, measured through high success rates, high quality teaching and learning, student satisfaction surveys and high levels of progression to further study, higher education or employment. The department will comprise both education and training (study programmes and adult learning of all types) and apprenticeships training (current frameworks and standards programmes).

As Head of Department you will work with other department heads to deliver continuous improvement, share practice and deliver projects where required. To achieve improvements, the ideal candidate will be capable of managing resources and leading change to embrace new innovative ways of working.

Exceptional candidates with substantial experience of developing engineering automation and robotics curricula may be offered additional financial recognition.
