Of Mice and Men
A 1930’s story of migrant workers comes to life on stage this season at Mansfield’s Create Theatre.
Of Mice and Men, by Nobel Prize-winning John Steinbeck, will be getting a triple showing between Thursday 29 and Saturday 31 May, through theatre company – Kitchen Table Trio.
The story details the lives of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers who move from place to place in search of job opportunities during the great depression in America.
The doomed tale of friendship and morality, which is read in many schools today, is coming to the stage courtesy of the company who performed The Odd Couple and Drag Queens on Trial.
Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “It’s great to be hosting yet another local theatre company and Kitchen Table Trio really are showcasing the best acting talent in the community.
“This is a play which will interest schools too as it’s still a well-known piece of literature studied in schools and to see this as a theatre piece will enhance a student’s experience of the work.”
Tickets for the performance cost £6, with concessions costing £4 and £8 on the door. To purchase tickets either call 01623 413363 or visit www.createtheatre.co.uk
