Spiltmilk say dance!
Spiltmilk Dance troupe will be putting on their dancing shoes for a performance on Friday 4 April at 7.30pm and exploring social dance crazes through the decades at Create Theatre in Mansfield.
During the first part of the ‘Say Dance’ performance, three dancers take a look at ways people interact through dance, putting their unique spin on the kind of moves we all end up doing at discos, weddings and family gatherings.
In the second part of the performance, it’s the audience’s turn to dance if they wish to take part, as the seats in the auditorium are pushed back to create a dance floor.
Spiltmilk will be encouraging theatre-goers to take to the floor and try long-forgotten folk dances, daft novelty dances as well as elegant ballroom moves – all set to unexpected music choices played by a live musician.
Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “This is a really accessible dance piece and anyone aged from 5 to 95 will recognise a familiar dance as well as the music.
“This is a fun show with the added opportunity to take part in actual dance in the second part if you are feeling brave!”
Tickets for the family-friendly show cost £8 or £5 for students. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.createtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01623 413363.
