West Nottinghamshire College gets a close second place at hairdressing competitions
Hairdressing students at West Nottinghamshire College’s Academy narrowly missed first place in the annual hairdressing competitions by just a few points, but applauded Chesterfield College as winners this week (18th March).
Hairdressing students from West Nottinghamshire College went head-to-head with North Notts College and Chesterfield College, to show off their creative skills at the annual competition which was held at Mansfield’s Chicago Rock bar and restaurant.
West Notts delivered some eye-catching designs in the Level 2 themed ‘hair-up’ category which showed off styles based on the famous film ‘Hairspray’.
Suzanne Hill, Project Manager for Work-based Learning, said: “The competition was such a fantastic event. All the staff and students got involved and there was a real buzz and excitement from all colleges.
“I was proud of the way our learners showcased their skills and to get two first place positions was amazing! All the learners worked very hard and produced some exceptional work and performed well under the pressure of being on the stage.”
