A great Christmas tale
Audiences are set to step into a Dickens Victorian Christmas tale at a Mansfield Theatre this month.
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens is coming to Create Theatre to enchant people with the story of Pip, a seven-year-old orphan, who is visiting his mother’s grave.
The year is 1803 and it’s Christmas Eve and Pip’s encounter with an escaped convict begins a series of events that will change his life forever.
Directed by Simon Harvey in association with Village Ventures, and performed by Cornish actor David Mynne in a one-man show, the tale cleverly brings characters such as terrifying Magwich, kind-hearted Joe Gargery and eccentric Miss Havisham to life at a performance on Sunday 15 December.
The performance which starts at 6pm is suitable for adults and accompanied children over ten-years-old. Tickets cost £10 each or £8 for concessions and £5 for students and can be purchased at www.createtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01623 413363.
