The Lovesong of Alfred J Hitchcock will take you into the mind of the master of suspense
The master of suspense is brought back to life for Create Theatre’s production of The Lovesong of Alfred J Hitchcock this month.
The production, by formerly Mansfield-based New Perspectives Theatre Company in association with Village Ventures, will take the audience into the mind of Hitchcock, who at the height of his powers, became possessed by the dreamlike vision of a woman.
From that famous directors’ chair, the performance on Thursday 21 November, will unravel some of the defining films of our time, drawing people into the imagination of one of the world’s most mysterious, creative minds.
Adapted for New Perspectives from his award-winning radio play, David Rudkin’s new production takes a unique look at the way Hitchcock developed the ideas of famous films such as Marnie, Psycho, Vertigo and Strangers on a Train.
Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “It’s great that we can get New Perspectives back in Mansfield again as they always provide the best in touring theatre.
“The fact that they are coming to Create after touring at bigger theatres like the Curve in Leicester and Derby Theatre is a huge testament to our development and how we’re fast becoming a home for the best in small-scale touring theatre.”
The performance at 7.30pm costs £10 per person, £8 for concessions and £5 for students and can be purchased by calling 01623 413363 or by visiting www.createtheatre.co.uk
