Young business people of tomorrow are set to learn the secrets of success through the experiences of an enterprising farmer.
Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, known as The Black Farmer, will be visiting West Nottinghamshire College’s Vision Entrepreneur group on 21 November to share the story of his success and talk about how he created and built his business.
Wilfred, who came to the UK from Jamaica in the 1950s, rose to success as a director and producer for the BBC despite leaving school without any qualifications. He is responsible for bringing many top UK celebrity chefs to the small screen before founding his own food and drink marketing company.
He then went on to buy a small farm in Devon, launching one of the most successful food brands, creating his own range of sausages, bacon, chicken and cheese under his label – The Black Farmer.
Wilfred will speak to Vision Entrepreneurs at the college’s Derby Road campus about his success as well as his rural scholarship scheme which he launched to inspire and inform young people from inner city communities about living and working in rural areas.
People wishing to join the Vision Entrepreneur group, which has been set up by the college to nurture business ideas and provide advice about the world of business and enterprise, should contact Rachel Bates by calling 01623 627191 ext 8019 or via Rachel.bates@wnc.ac.uk
