Undergraduates’ employer showcase
Up to one hundred higher education students at West Nottinghamshire College will showcase their final-year projects to local and regional employers at an event next week.
The Employer Showcase takes place in the college’s sports hall, on the Derby Road campus in Mansfield, on Tuesday (23 April).
Students from sport, computing, business management and public services and law courses will display their work from 10am to 1pm.
The students, who are all on foundation degree programmes, will also discuss their projects with representatives from private and public sector employers and seeking their professional feedback.
This is the fourth year the college has staged the event, aimed at helping students develop the employability skills needed in today’s challenging and competitive job market.
HE and international manager Dani MacKinnon said: “Our undergraduates work incredibly hard on their final projects and the showcase event is a great opportunity for employers to see what they've learned on their university-level studies at college.
“Students also have a chance to raise awareness of what the college provides, in terms of qualifications and work-based opportunities to businesses as well as new students.
“Every year this proves to be a great networking opportunity for students as well as a platform to develop their skills and confidence to engage with a professional audience.”
Prospective students are welcome to attend the event to learn more about the college's higher education programmes.
