Students to tread the boards at Create Theatre
It’s the turn of West Nottinghamshire College’s own performing arts students to take their acting skills to the stage this week in a gritty performance.
Someone Like Me will be showing at the Create Theatre on Wednesday (13 March) at 7.30pm and has been written and devised by performance students.
The show combines music, movement and drama as it follows the lives of three soldiers returning from the front line, trying to rebuild their lives.
Borrowing the techniques and devising methods of English theatre director Joan Littlewood and the Theatre Workshop, Someone Like Me will highlight how the war on terror has impacted on the lives of servicemen and women and asks what we as a modern society should do to support their return to civilian life.
Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “We’re proud to be welcoming our students back to the stage for a second season. They’ll be using their skills to perform this emotional play, which I’m sure will leave many in our audience deeply moved.”
Tickets for the show cost £3 per person or £2 for concessions. To buy tickets visit www.createtheatre.co.uk or call 01623 413363.
