Sky’s the limit for Zeshan
An IT professional from West Nottinghamshire College is being flown to America by Microsoft bosses for his specialist knowledge of the industry.
Zeshan Sattar, curriculum manager for IT apprenticeships at Vision Workforce Skills – a national training provider and subsidiary of the college – is the only guest from Europe to be invited to the computing giant’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, on Tuesday (12 March) to take part in a live industry panel broadcast.
The broadcast is part of Microsoft’s Certified Career Day and will see Zeshan with heads of global IT companies and senior members of Microsoft Corporation engaging in a discussion about the evolution of Cloud technology and how it is redefining IT recruitment.
Cloud technology is internet-based computing, where shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand.
Zeshan has delivered training to a range of audiences across the world via online platforms. He is responsible for apprenticeship training and certification at a number of Vision Workforce Skills centres in the UK, which are recognised Microsoft IT academies.
Mr Sattar said: “I’m very excited about taking part in this forum, which will allow me to speak about the impact of the ‘Cloud’ on training and education. To be the only delegate from Europe to have been invited is a huge honour.
“It’s vital that further and higher education providers begin to align their curriculums to recognise the changes that Cloud technology brings.
“Personally, I hope to learn from the other industry experts and use this to build world-class programmes to make Vision Workforce Skills the training provider of choice for IT and technology businesses in the UK.”
