TV comics bring laughter to college theatre
A star-studded line up of comedy is coming to West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre in March.
The first stand-up comic night comes to Create on Wednesday 6 March at 7.30pm and features television’s Rob Rouse, Patrick Monahan and Joe Lycett.
These rising comedy stars are well-known for appearing on TV shows such as 8 out of 10 Cats, Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Show Me The Funny and are set to be big names in the future.
Recent winner of Show Me The Funny, Patrick Monahan, is kicking off his UK tour this weekend (24 February) launching the laughter in London. He’ll join fellow comics Rob Rouse and Joe Lycett at Create in March, before touring the rest of the country.
Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “This is a real coup for us to be able to host three well-known, up-and-coming comedians. We are currently booking acts for our second comedy night in July. Between us and AndWhyNot, who host a monthly comedy night, the comedy scene in Mansfield is really starting to grow.
“It’s set to be a great performance and I recommend people getting their tickets as soon as they can as it’s due to be a sell-out show.”
The theatre will be hosting its second stand-up comic evening on 3 July and details will appear on Facebook in the coming weeks. Visit www.facebook.com/createTheatre for more details on this next show.
Tickets for the show cost £15 per person. To buy tickets visit www.createtheatre.co.uk or call 01623 413363.
