Dickens’ classic comes to Create
Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future will be brought to life on stage at West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre in December
Charles Dickens’ classic – A Christmas Carol – will be presented by Nottingham-based New Perspectives Theatre Company in association with Village Ventures touring scheme on Friday (7 December) from 7.30pm.
Characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim will be played by solo storyteller Kern Falconer, who will transport the audience back to the Victorian age in this festive favourite marking the bicentenary of Charles Dickens’ birth.
Director Matt Cullum said: “We’re delighted to be bringing this classic story to the stage at Create Theatre. We hope to capture the magic of one the greatest-loved stories of all time and share this spine-tingling, heartwarming Christmas story with the audience.”
Create Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall, who has worked with New Perspectives, said: “I was really keen to bring the company here as they used to be based in Mansfield and provided us with great theatre.
“In Create we have a fantastic venue for them to stage their small-scale touring works; so Mansfield people can once again appreciate New Perspectives’ work locally.”
The performance is recommended for adults and older children and runs for 90 minutes plus interval.
