A pantomime with a twist
In the first of the Christmas-themed performances, West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre is hosting A Stinxville Christmas on Saturday (1 December).
A Stinxville Christmas – performed by Nottingham-based Arletty Theatre company – will take the audience on a journey of a lifetime to the wicked city of Stinxville following the hapless hero ‘Little Pleb’.
The cast of villains will sing, dance, play games and even serve cake in the ‘capital of corruption’. The main character Little Pleb will go through a trial for his life, with the audience deciding whether he is innocent or guilty.
Arletty Theatre company was founded in January 2011 and specialises in site-specific and immersive theatre. Their aim is to create original, boundary-breaking work to engage new audiences.
Create Theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “Everyone loves a pantomime and we’re looking forward to hosting our first one in the Create Theatre.
“This performance is set to be a riotous and colourful one and will be a real Christmas treat for adults and children alike.”
