Fun and fitness in the forest
Fitness students from West Nottinghamshire College are limbering up for fun in the forest next weekend.
On Sunday (11 November) around 25 students on the personal training and gym instructor NVQ programmes will be taking part in the annual Robin Hood Adventure Challenge at Sherwood Pines Forest Park.
Students will choose to participate in either the Robin Hood 10km trail run, the Maid Marion 5km trail run or the Evil Sheriff off-road duathlon, consisting of a 5km run and 16km bike ride followed by a 3km run.
This will be the fifth consecutive year that students from West Notts have taken part in the challenge and this year they’ll be joined by their programme area leader Lindsey Wilson.
Lindsey said: “The event is set to be both challenging and fun with a range of ages and abilities taking part. I’m looking forward to seeing our students push their own physical abilities and I’m delighted to be taking part myself this year.
“These events can be quite gruelling but each year our students take part with such enthusiasm and they often achieve impressive race times.”
