Fraser makes a great impression
Young people were inspired by one of the country’s most successful young entrepreneurs at an event at West Nottinghamshire College yesterday (2 October).
Fraser Doherty, the brainchild of the highly successful SuperJam brand was guest speaker at Vision Entrepreneur’s first ever meeting.
This pioneering programme, aimed at nurturing the job-creators of tomorrow, welcomed college students, sixth-formers and people with enterprising ideas to its first in a series of monthly events.
Attendees will have the chance to be coached by industry experts to develop the skills to thrive in business and network with successful entrepreneurs, through a series of monthly events.
Fraser, 23, who set up the company aged just 14 making jams in his gran’s kitchen, explained how he turned his idea into a multi-million pound industry supplying more than 2,000 supermarkets around the world, before taking part in a question and answer session.
He said: “The thing that made SuperJam possible was all the advice and support I got from entrepreneurs who had been there and done it. I’ve learned a huge amount and it’s an honour to pass on my experience to others.
“I’m really inspired to see the college providing students and others with the support to start their own business.”
