Travelling theatre company to perform at college
Theatre-goers are in for a treat next week when a travelling theatre company performs at West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre.
The Gramophones Theatre Company will be performing ‘End To End’ on Tuesday (10 July) at 7.30pm.
The performance charts a daring journey by three women who cover 874 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. They share moments from their adventure and encounters with a host of interesting and unusual characters while they travel on as many different varieties of transport as they possibly could.
As part of Mansfield Arts Festival, the college invited the theatre company to perform their new production in its 150-seat theatre before it goes on tour nationally, which will include several performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.
Create’s theatre co-ordinator Adam Pownall said: “We’re delighted to welcome The Gramophones and this is a great opportunity for us to see just how performing theatre companies can utilise our new theatre.
“We will be launching our new website this summer together with a brochure of forthcoming productions which will cover theatre, comedy, improvisation, story-telling, dance and music. There will be something to suit all tastes.”
The performance at the college’s Derby Road-based Create Theatre will cost £5 and tickets can be booked by calling Adam Pownall on 01623 627191 ext 8301.
