Caribbean cuisine at college café
Students at West Nottinghamshire College’s BAY6 coffee bar and café will be getting the spice racks out next week as they serve tropical dishes for diners.
Learners will be serving up a selection of hot and cold food as part of a Caribbean-themed week of dining from 13-17 June.
Diners can tuck into hot and spicy coconut and bean soup with garlic and a hint of curry for £1.50, followed by Jamaican jerk chicken with hot and spicy sweet potatoes for £3.
Desert is caramelised pineapple served with cinnamon cream for 60p.
Food will be available from 10am to 2pm, with tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches also served during these times at the venue in Woodhouse Road, Mansfield.
People can just turn up although parties of eight or more are advised to book a table on 01623 413027.
BAY6 is open to the public for hot and cold refreshments and provides a practical training and working environment for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
