Students to serve up veggie treats
Students at West Nottinghamshire College’s BAY6 coffee bar and café and will be serving up a range of vegetarian treats to celebrate National Vegetarian Week next week (23-29 May).
National Vegetarian Week is the UK’s annual awareness-raising campaign promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle.
From Monday (23 May) members of the public can enjoy items on the menu such as minestrone soup for £1.50 and gnocchi and tomato bake for £2. Desserts on offer are lemon curd and yoghurt fool, and Zucotta – a dome-shaped vanilla cake filled with whipped cream and almonds with orange and chocolate, both costing £1.
Food will be available from 10.00am to 2pm, with tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches also served during these times at the venue in Woodhouse Road, Mansfield.
People can just turn up although parties of eight or more are advised to book a table on 01623 413027.
BAY6 is open to the public for hot and cold refreshments and provides a practical training and working environment for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
