College to host first Indian themed fine dining experience
Level 3 Professional Cookery student Naveendra Nookanah will be head chef at West Nottinghamshire College’s very first Indian themed fine dining evening on Friday 27th February at its Number 19 Brasserie.
Nav, who comes from Mauritius, joined the College two years ago with his cousin Krishna, when they enrolled on the Level 2 NVQ in Professional Cookery. Back in Mauritius the cousins worked in top class hotels and restaurants, so are no strangers to quality.
The eight-course tasting menu will include scallops, red mullet, chicken supreme and pistachio kulfi dessert. It is inspired by his culinary hero Atul Kochhar, who is one of London's top celebrity Michelin starred chefs.
Nav says: "I'm really looking forward to showing the diners what a great tasting menu I can create. Indian is one of my favourite cuisines and now that it’s been awarded Michelin-star status in London, I'm keen to work in the capital after my studies."
