College’s first fine dining event of 2009
West Nottinghamshire College Level 3 Professional Cookery student Krish Nookanah is to cook up a treat on Friday 16th January at the College’s first fine dining event of the year at its well-renowned Number 19 Brasserie.
Krish, who comes from Mauritius, is to prepare an eight-course delight for diners featuring a wood pigeon starter and lamb main course, finishing with a white chocolate and thyme ice cream.
The 29-year-old, who cites celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsey and Heston Blumenthal as his inspirations, said: “I am really looking forward to my fine dining evening and showing off the talents that I’ve picked up since studying at West Notts College.
“My dream, after completing my studies, is to one day run my own Michelin star establishment – maybe in London.”
Krish moved to England from Mauritius with his cousin Naveendra in 2004, when they soon took up their cookery studies at the College. Back in Mauritius Krish worked in a top five-star hotel. These days, outside of college Krish works as Assistant Manager at the popular Ashfield Pub.
The fine dining evenings are very popular at Number 19 Brasserie and bookings can still be made for Krish’s event by calling 01623 413629.
