Sixty ladies running
Staff and students at West Nottinghamshire College have been proudly adding up the cash this week after their weekend charity run.
Over £3,000 was raised by the team of sixty female runners who took part in Cancer Research UK’s ‘Race for Life’ event at Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment last Sunday (6 June).
The college team which competed amongst 3,500 other running fundraisers was headed by sports development co-ordinator, Rachael Evans, and was made up of staff and students – many of whom ran the event in memory of family members.
Rachael said of the weekend’s event: “Our team ran really well. We all managed to get to the finishing line in under one hour and the camaraderie between us was wonderful. I’m so proud of everyone who took part and their enthusiasm towards training for the race was outstanding.
