Free online learning for adults in the community
A fantastic opportunity for adults in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas to learn for free has arisen thanks to West Nottinghamshire College’s online short courses.
The programmes, aimed at people aged 19 plus, are completely free until 31 July 2020 and offer a wide range of areas to get both personal development and get an introduction to a range of professions.
All of the courses are non-accredited but give individuals an ideal starting point if they are looking to move on towards an accredited course in the future or simply for those who have an interest in a particular subject.
There is also a range of wellbeing courses available including stress management, personal money management, principles of exercise and fitness, and understanding anxiety.
Subject areas include business, leadership and management, health and social care, health and safety, retail and hospitality, health and wellbeing, childcare and education and personal development and employability.
Each subject area has a range of targeted areas to study and the full list can be found at https://www.wnc.ac.uk/Adults/Community.aspx
Manager of community and adult learning, Peter Rowley, said: “Even though our college sites have had to close during the pandemic, we’re incredibly keen to still offer learning opportunities for adults within our communities where possible.
“These online courses will give people a great insight into a broad range of subjects which can assist them in everyday life, help them into employment, or act as a stepping stone towards gaining a qualification in the coming months.
“Community learning across our districts has always been popular and I’m delighted that we can now share some of these online courses until our centres are open once again.”
To find out more about the courses and to register your interest, email community@wnc.ac.uk with the course you’re interested in and an electronic enrolment form will be forwarded on for completion.
