Housing charity delighted with students’ cheque
Following on from a successful food and drink festival at West Nottinghamshire College, travel and tourism students presented a housing charity with the fruits of their labour.

The International Food and Drink Festival, organised and managed by students on the Foundation Degree in Tourism and Event Management in March, raised almost £320 for Framework, the homeless charity and housing association.
The event, which was attended by over 100 guests and saw a range of local food and catering companies attend to sell their produce, was a great success. Companies included The Little Sugar Shack, The School of Artisan Food, and local Thai food company, Mo.
Last week (4 May), Abbi Mayfield, the events and fundraising officer for Framework, visited the students to collect the final cheque from the event.
Abbi said: “I’m absolutely delighted to collect the cheque today. I was at the food and drink festival myself and the students worked amazingly well with both the management and fundraising aspect of it.
“This money will go towards funding the ‘Move On’ packs which contain basic essentials for people moving on into their own accommodation.”
One of the student organisers, Hayley Power, said: “We really enjoyed the festival and we were thrilled to see so many people attend and all visiting companies donated kindly towards the Framework collection.”
