The best of British to be served at college brasserie
Three graduating catering and hospitality students at West Nottinghamshire College’s Number 19 Brasserie will be serving up a 5-star British menu at the end of April (30 April).
Josh Adams, 19, from Mansfield and Simon Bingham, 20, from Huthwaite, are both studying NVQ Level 3 in professional cookery and have a best of British menu awaiting diners on the evening of 30 April when they graduate from their course.
Dishes include creamed goat’s cheese for starters or smoked haddock and asparagus ravioli followed by rack of lamb or blade of beef for the main course. Desserts include traditional English trifle as well as spicy ginger parkin.
Josh and Simon will be joined by Keith Swinton, 20, from Selston, who is graduating from his NVQ Level 3 in restaurant management. On the night Keith will be serving famous name cocktails to diners such as mojitos, daiquiris, martinis and margaritas.
The trio have aspirations for the future within the hospitality industry. Keith has just applied to work on board Princess Cruise ships and is looking forward to travelling the world. Josh has been successful in getting a job at Nottingham’s Riverbank bar and kitchen and Simon is currently working as commis chef at Lambs restaurant in Mansfield.
Simon said: “I’ve really enjoyed my four years at West Notts and every week I’ve learnt something new. I can’t wait to carry on improving my skills at my job at Lambs restaurant.”
Diners can book a table for the graduation meal by calling the Number 19 Brasserie on (01623) 413629. Tables will be available from 6.30pm.
