Fashion students show off designs
Fashion students are showing off their skills alongside some of the big names in young fashions.
Designs by students on the BTEC Level 3 clothing and textiles course at West Nottinghamshire College are on display at Mansfield Westgate department store.
Store manager Mark Wells said: “The quality of the students’ work is certainly stopping shoppers. People are looking at the students’ designs and artwork and they’re very impressed by it.
“It’s very good quality work. Everything they have put together is very professional.”
The display will run until the end of April on the first floor ‘bridge’ between the two Westgate buildings on Queen Street.
Mark added: “We’re delighted to give the students an opportunity to display their very impressive skills in our store. We have some great fashion brands in our store including Mexx, Esprit, Weirdfish and the students’ work fits in very well with them.”
The display features fashion designs, plus the work students have put into coming up with their creations.
The college’s fashion learning advisor, Katharine Kennedy, said: “We’re really proud to be showcasing this selection of our students’ fashion projects at this well-known department store. Their work covers a range of levels and abilities and is a really eye-catching array of both contemporary and traditional fashion and design.”
