National ‘Elf’ service comes to college
Festive frivolities are well underway at West Nottinghamshire College as Christmastime draws closer.
Helpful elves magic the cash for national charity
Staff and students in the A Level curriculum donned their jingly hats and red and green attire last week to become Santa’s elves in their elf themed charity fundraiser.
In support of the Alzheimer’s Society’s National Elf Day on Friday (9 December) students and their tutors dressed as elves and asked fellow students to register their own elf names while donating money to the good cause.
Students used their initiative to raise funds through elf-themed quizzes and competitions to bring in the cash.
A Level film and media tutor Ellen Beavis said: “Everyone’s been getting into the spirit of things with creative ways of doing elf-related activities.
“We had a screening of the film ‘Elf’ earlier in the week as games such as guess the name of the Elf. The students have also convinced staff to dress up in their bells and red and green outfits – all in the name of raising cash for the Alzheimer’s Society and we’ve raised over £120.”
