Students work links with Disney
A Level and computer science students at West Nottinghamshire College have returned from a residential trip to Florida, USA, with the prospect of going back for work placements with the Disney Corporation in the future.
The eight-day adventure took the group of 13 students to America to discover how the magic is created at some of the top theme parks such as Animal Kingdom, MGM, and Seaworld as well as popular Disney resorts - Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon.
West Nottinghamshire College is proud of the opportunities it offers students for international travel. For some of the students it was their first time abroad; for others it was the first time they had flown on an aeroplane.
Curriculum manager Piers Ching said: “Our students really enjoyed the visit to Florida and gained a real insight into how these theme parks operate and succeed as businesses, and they have returned to West Notts very encouraged after networking with staff at Disney.
“Having visited some of the theme parks owned by Disney, we have discussed the option of students securing work placements as well as looking at the possibility of students working for them in the future.”
