College in Nottinghamshire Training Network finals
Three West Nottinghamshire College students and a local business whose engineering apprentices are trained by the college are all through to the finals of the Nottinghamshire Training Network annual awards ceremony.
The awards celebrate and recognise the achievement, excellence and dynamism of individuals and employers of Nottinghamshire. The graduation ceremony and awards dinner will be held on 28 January 2010 at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
Keeley Bates, 23, from Mansfield Woodhouse, is through to the apprentice of the year category. Keeley is studying on the Access to Nursing programme and has recently been in a work placement at Redcliffe House residential care home in Mansfield.
Stacey Reynolds, 21, from Clipstone, is also through to the apprentice of the year category. Stacey has recently completed her Business Administration NVQ level 2 and is now working as employer responsive advisor for the college’s employer engagement team.
Mark Morton, 38, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, has been nominated for the progression award. Mark has recently studied on the NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care having already completed his Level 3 in a record timeframe of three months. Mark works as a bungalow manager looking after local residents through his employer – Ashfield Court Care Home.
Finally, bulk material handling company, Zeppelin Systems, based in Mansfield, has reached the finals for the employer award. Zeppelin Systems currently has a number of engineering apprentices enrolled at the college.
