College's Christmas music extravaganza
Students from West Nottinghamshire College’s Thoresby Street media studio will be putting on two music events next week to celebrate Christmas and their skills achieved so far on the first diploma and the national diploma in music.
The two events, which will take place at The Diamond in Sutton-in-Ashfield, will see students covering many rock and pop hits from the past.
The first event, on Monday 14 December, starts at 7pm at the Stoney Street venue and will feature first diploma music students singing hits by The Beatles, The Who, The Police and many more. Special guests will be fellow music students from the second year national diploma course.
The second event, on Tuesday 15 December starting at 7pm, will feature year one national diploma students who will cover hits by Blondie, The Cure and Jimi Hendrix.
Music tutor Gary Martins said: “The students have worked really hard on their line-ups for the Christmas shows. It makes me proud to see just how far their music skills have developed since September and I know they’re really looking forward to wowing the crowds with their covers of some of the top hits of the last few decades.”
Tickets for both nights will be £2.50 on the door.
