Christmas carols in the community
Health and social care students from West Nottinghamshire College will be visiting a trio of care homes in the area next week to deliver mince pies and sing Christmas carols.
The group of 28 learners will be accompanied by the college’s careers team and will be visiting Woodleigh Christian Care Home in Mansfield, followed by The Limes Care Home in Mansfield Woodhouse, then finally taking their voices and tasty treats to Westfield Care Home in Mansfield.
Edina Baines, careers and employability advisor in the careers team, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to raise our students' awareness of the benefits of volunteering in the community.
“This will also be a great opportunity for our health and social care students to discover more about working in a care environment. I know they are really looking forward to bringing some happiness to the residents at the care homes on Wednesday (9 December) and they’re already practicing their Christmas carols!"
