Love Music, Hate Racism music event
West Nottinghamshire College staff and the Students’ Union have teamed up to put on a concert in support of the national Love Music, Hate Racism campaign which will feature a headlining rap act from Nottingham.
The concert takes place this evening (25 November) at the Town Mill pub in Mansfield from 7.30-11.30pm and will feature student bands and well-known DJs.
Students’ Union president Luke Frakes said: “We are keen to raise awareness of a really important issue and the event will serve as a testament to the fact that a diverse and multi-cultural society is a positive thing.
“We hope that lots of our students and staff will come along and support the event and give the acts some encouragement.”
Headlining the event is Nottingham rap act Elementz and Karizma. Support acts include local DJ Beanie Noodler, who is a college staff member; West Notts student band Supermojo and The Educatables, which features Luke Frakes as guitarist.
Tickets cost £3 with an NUS card and £4 for non-card holders. Tickets will be available on the doors. All profits from the night will go towards supporting Love Music, Hate Racism.
