Students to take over directors' and principal's jobs
The roles of West Nottinghamshire College principal and executive directors are up for grabs for students next week – all in the name of charity – as the college gears up for raising money for Children in Need.
For one day only (Friday 20 November) interested students will be shortlisted to shadow four senior staff roles to see how top management run the college. Students can apply for the position of principal, director of communications and marketing, director of human resources or director of employer engagement.
Learners will have the opportunity to suggest what changes they would make to the management of the college and learn more about the duties involved in each job, as well as finding out what goes into making the college the successful organisation it is today.
Each student will collect sponsorships for their day’s work shadowing and each director they work for will donate money to the college’s Children in Need fundraising pot.
Learner voice co-ordinator Sue Harries said: “Every year our students come up with such innovative and exciting ways to support this national charity. I have every faith in our students over the many college sites that they'll raise even more money than last year.
"I hope everybody gets involved in the fun events and can enjoy team-building with their tutors and friends at the same time.”
During the week all college sites will be getting involved in many more fun activities to raise money for the charity including:
