Building society is fit for business
Trainee fitness coaches from West Nottinghamshire College have been putting business people through their paces with a tailor-made exercise session.

Students on the Level 2 Diploma in Health, Fitness and Exercise Instruction visited staff at Mansfield Building Society, on Regent Street, Mansfield, this week as part of its Learning at Work week initiative (16-20 May).
The building society, which has four branches in Mansfield, Chesterfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield, ran a week of events designed to concentrate on employee health and wellbeing, and invited the fitness students to provide staff with a personal training class.
The group of six students delivered a ‘lunch and learn’ session which concentrated on a healthy diet and getting the right kind of nutrition. This was followed by a practical session which saw the students acting as personal trainers to the group.
Activities such as boxing, core stability, working with kettle bells, free weights and their own body weight were delivered.
Commercial development executive Richard Crisp said: “We asked the students at the college if they’d be interested in helping to create and deliver a personal training session to support our initiative - they couldn’t have been more supportive”.
“The students certainly knew their stuff, they knew how to train us, and they certainly knew how to make us sweat! Everyone seemed to really enjoy the session although I suspect one or two will be aching tomorrow.
“Our development week has been a great opportunity for all employees to attend relaxed, informative and practical sessions that bring us together as one team in a fun learning environment.”
