Charity issues Christmas card challenge
A charity is urging businesses to switch to digital Christmas cards this festive season – and donate the postage savings to supporting disadvantaged young people in Mansfield and Ashfield.
The Inspire and Achieve Foundation, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, is offering to supply firms with customised ‘e-cards’ containing their company’s logo, ready to email to customers and suppliers.
In return, it is asking for a donation from the money saved on buying and posting out traditional Christmas cards to help fund its outreach and mentoring programmes for 16 to 24-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training.
Since 2012 alone, the foundation – which has links with West Nottinghamshire College – has enabled almost 350 young people to get their lives back on track, with many moving into paid work or onto full-time college courses.
Business connector Carol Avison said: “Donating the money saved on cards, stamps and postage will help even more disadvantaged young people across the area to become motivated and find a positive future.”
