Georgie – following the 20 Mile Road Tour
Nottingham singer-songwriter Georgie has announced that West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre will be one of the venues for her East Midlands tour.
Georgie is set for the 20 Mile Road tour
Georgie’s 20 Mile Road Tour spans 20 miles across the East Midlands and follows Georgie’s route from her hometown in Mansfield to the city where she got her big break, a journey she made often as a new musician and that was immortalised in her stunning track ’20 Mile Road’.
It’s been an exciting year for Georgie, one that has seen her make several festival appearances including Splendour and Y Not Festival, and sign a record deal with Columbia Records.
Starting out at the tender age of 14, she quickly gained a solid reputation for her stunning live performances, drawing comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and Patti Smith. Since then she has become a stalwart of the Nottingham music scene – championed by everyone from BBC Introducing, Left Lion and NUSIC.
Tour dates are 9 October – Create Theatre, Mansfield, 6 November – Village Hall, Ravenshead, 10 December – The Maze, Nottingham.
Each date will also feature support slots from other rising stars of the Nottinghamshire music scene handpicked by Georgie herself.
Georgie said about the tour: “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to play these shows. That route is so symbolic for me as it represents a journey I made hundreds of times and wrote a song about, so it’s really exciting to make an event out of it.
