Childcare students to be ‘Tasters, Shakers and Creators’
Around 250 early years and childcare students at the College’s Derby Road campus will be getting stuck in to a day of fun activities on Wednesday 20th May to mark the forthcoming end of the College year.
The day, entitled ‘Tasters, Shakers and Creators’ is being put together by departmental staff and consists of 13 workshops, which includes: outdoor physical activities on the sports field, nail art, Asian cooking, movie production, ceramic painting, jewellery making, street dancing, graffiti art and much more.
The workshops are being led by staff from the College as well as external providers and promises to be a fun-filled day for all of the students in childcare, which will provide enrichment to their study programmes.
Leslye Henstock, programme area leader for early years said: “This event has been designed to allow our students to try something new, to challenge them and enable them to reach new heights and encourage them to realise they are capable of being creative in many different ways.
“We are really looking forward to holding these creative workshops as our students have worked hard and truly deserve this end of year event. It’s never been done before and there really is something for everyone to try.”
