The Construction & Building Services apprenticeship provision at Vision West Nottinghamshire College is a close knit team based at the Station Park Construction Centre. The team work closely with employers to offer high-quality apprentices in Construction Crafts as well as Building Services, supporting learners with their progression through the course of their apprenticeship journey.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to be part of our Carpentry and Joinery team, to teach and assess across a range of programmes.  You will plan, deliver and assess identified vocational programmes including commercial activities and drive developments within the area, supporting trainees to achieve on a range of programmes.

As well as carrying a teaching load, this role will assess apprentices completing Carpentry, Joinery and Wood Production Apprenticeships in the workplace and support the apprentices’ progress through the relevant programmes at intermediate and advanced levels. The role requires regular visits to see apprentices and employers on-site as well as frequent attendance at the Station Park Construction Centre, liaising with technical delivery staff and supporting apprentices with the knowledge requirements. The successful candidate would be within the Mansfield area or reside at a location that allows a daily commute to WNC sites such as Chesterfield Road, Station Park and the surrounding area.

You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

It is essential to have industrial experience within the Carpentry & Joinery sector and experience of teaching and or assessing within the training sector or FE environment. This is a hands on teaching and assessing role taught mainly via practical sessions both onsite at our Construction and Building Services centre and at employer’s premises.

You must be confident working with young people and willing to lead both practical and theory sessions.

This post carries a commitment of up to 500 delivery hours with flexibility to carry out assessments of apprentices as and when required.
