Dark comedy charts friendship
Local, emerging theatre company – Outlaw Theatre – are bringing their debut show, What Doesn’t Kill You, to Create Theatre.
Written by Robert Sole with direction by Andrew Burton, the dark comedy follows Roberts (Stuart Bull) and Bellamy (Pete Nightingale) as they cross paths by chance, planting the shady seed that is to mark the beginning of their unbelievable journey through the turbulent and liberal levels of their friendship.
On Saturday 26 April, audiences will get the chance to see if they outlast a psychological downturn or whether they surrender to utter insanity.
Outlaw Theatre, based in Nottingham, are a group of theatre practitioners from different performance disciplines who met while studying acting but went their separate ways within the field.
Now re-grouping and using their varied expertise they aim to produce accessible, yet high-quality theatre through What Doesn’t Kill You.
Director Andrew Burton said: “It’s great to be working with some old friends again, being friends means we know how each other works. We know each other’s strengths and it makes for a creative and relaxed rehearsal environment. Our first show is an original piece of writing; its quirky, funny and not one to be missed.”
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm cost £6 or two for £10. Students can purchase them for £5. On the door price is £8. To buy tickets click www.createtheatre.co.uk or call 01623 413363.
