Students all all set for their biggest Children in Need fundraising challenge yet
The fundraising spirit is set to soar at West Nottinghamshire College as students get ready for a week of activities to support Children in Need.
Throughout the week the college’s Students’ Union is organising a range of fun events with the aim of raising over £1,500 for the national charity. Events include:
Wednesday 13 November – Wear your onsie day will see A Level students donning their onesies for a donation to Children in Need. They will be modelling their nightwear with Pudsey in the Students’ Union block at the Derby Road campus at 12.30pm.
Thursday 14 November – a sponsored leg wax will take place in the covered courtyard at the Derby Road campus at 11am and see someone being de-fluffed to raise the cash.
Friday 15 November – a cookie fest in the covered courtyard at the Derby Road campus where students will design and sell their own cookies, watched by Pudsey Bear. Body Shop products will also be on sale at this event.
Friday 15 November – a group of students will be packing shoppers’ bags in the Sutton-in-Ashfield ASDA branch for donations to the charity from 9am.
President of the Students’ Union Marie Oakton said: “As one of our main charity fundraising events of the year, we’re all looking forward to the madness and mayhem this week which we hope will achieve our cash pot of over £1,500 for Children in Need.
“We’ve been delighted to have so many students willing to get involved with their creative ideas to raise money and we’ll be adding to this amount through the sales of Pudsey Bear badges and a prize raffle.”
