Audiences are set to see seven short plays in just one evening as two local writers bring their story of salesmanship to Create Theatre.

Award-winning playwrights Brian Mitchell and Joseph Nixon’s performance Seven Studies in Salesmanship forms the ideal introduction and user’s manual to the high-octane world of salesmanship, covering every angle from the hard sell to celebrity endorsement.

The play, which comes to Create Theatre on Monday 15 November, is acted to its comedic-best by Radio2 comedian Glen Richardson, the Maydays’ Heather Urquhart and Jenny Rowe and Treason Show stalwart Daniel Beales.

Mitchell and Nixon met and went to school in Shirebook and have gone on to forge a life-long writing partnership that has seen them write for BBC1 and 4 and Radio4 and locally for New Perspectives Theatre Company and Derby Theatre.

They formed production house The Foundry Group in 2010, which is bringing ‘Seven Studies in Salesmanship’ to the area for its November tour. The Foundry Group’s first production, Mitchell and Nixon's ‘Big Daddy vs Giant Haystacks’, won several awards and featured in a recent BBC4 documentary and is coming back to Create in February 2014.

Heather Urquhart won Best Female Performer at the 2013 Brighton Festival and Fringe Awards for her performance in ‘Seven Studies in Salesmanship’.

Tickets for the 7.30pm show cost £8 per person and £5 for concessions and can be purchased from the booking office on 01623 413363 or by visiting www.createtheatre.co.uk
