International theatre company brings enchanting and enigmatic show to Create
A world of fantasy and imagination is being brought to life through puppetry at Create Theatre in June.
The Fantasist, performed by award-winning Theatre Témoin, explores the mind of Louise who, as she gazes into the night her fancy takes form. Objects move, time changes and a seductive stranger opens up a world of exhilaration and magic.
The show, on Friday 14 June, uses life-size puppetry, created in collaboration with War Horse’s Robin Guiver and combines object manipulation, physical theatre and original music in an imaginative, surreal story of a woman battling bipolar disorder.
The Fantasist has seen five-star success at Edinburgh Fringe 2012 and will also be touring to live-in mental health centres as part of a drive to use the Arts to lift stigma on mental illness.
Theatre Témoin is an international company of artists from Ireland, the UK, France and the US. The company creates pieces which are socially engaging and fun and shine a light on contemporary issues.
Tickets for the 7.30pm performance cost £10 and £8 for concessions and can be brought through the box office at www.createtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01623 413363.
