Thomas Hudson
It is with great sadness that West Nottinghamshire College received the tragic news that plumbing student Thomas Hudson was amongst six people killed in a road traffic accident on the A614, near Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire, on Friday night (13 February, 2009).
Thomas – known as Tom – had been a student on the Plumbing NVQ Level 2 course since September 2008, attending on day release from a local employer.
His tutor, Grant Sissons, remembers Tom fondly and said: “Tom was a very popular student. He was quite a comedian who enjoyed having a laugh but he also got on with his work. He was well liked and everybody knew him. Tom was doing really well on the course and passed all of his exams first time. Everyone is devastated by the news.”
College Principal and Chief Executive Asha Khemka OBE said: “Tom was an able and popular student who will be much missed by his fellow learners and the staff who taught him.
“This is a devastating tragedy and our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Tom’s family and friends, and to the families of everybody else involved in this dreadful accident.”
