Students take on the Evil Sheriff
Sports students at West Nottinghamshire College are resting their weary limbs after competing in the Robin Hood Adventure Challenge.
Students on the personal training and gym instructor NVQ programmes took part in the annual event at Sherwood Pines Forest Park on Sunday (11 November) which included the Robin Hood 10km trail run and the Evil Sheriff off-road duathlon.
Eighteen-year-old Matt Cummings who is studying the Certificate in Fitness Instructing came 5th in his age category and completed the duathlon in just over one hour and 44 minutes.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Matt Robinson who is studying the Diploma in Personal Training came 8th overall in the 10km trail run with a time of 38 minutes and 45 seconds.
This was the fifth consecutive year that students from West Notts have taken part in the challenge and this year they were joined by their programme area leader Lindsey Wilson.
Lindsey said: “It was a great day. The students really enjoyed doing something a bit different. Some of them have been in agony since but have said they would still go back and do it again.”
