Asian flavours at college café
Students at West Nottinghamshire College’s BAY6 Centre and coffee bar will be serving up a treat for the festival of lights next week (12-16 November).
To recognise Diwali – the Hindu celebration of lights – students will be serving diners a selection of Asian cuisine.
There will be Gobi Shorba, a cauliflower soup with spices for £1.50, chicken Korma with naan bread for £3 and pistachio turmeric seera, a semolina pudding with honey for £1.
Joining the students on Tuesday (13 November) will be the ‘This Life Mansfield’ pensioners group who will enjoy a coffee morning followed by the special lunch.
Food will be available from 10.00am to 2pm Monday to Friday, with tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches also served during these times at the venue in Woodhouse Road, Mansfield.
BAY6 is open to the public for hot and cold refreshments and provides a practical training and working environment for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
People can just turn up although parties of eight or more are advised to book a table on 01623 413027.
