From cartridges to cash for homeless
A recycling initiative at Vision West Notts has turned old printer cartridges into cash for a Mansfield homeless charity.
A cheque for £250 was presented to Karen Rollings and Colette Tucker from The Hall Homeless Support Project yesterday (19 December) by the college's print team leader Alan Sheppard and procurement manager Angie Pilgrim.
The money was raised throughout the year by recycling printer cartridges used at the college and exchanging them for cash.
The college has supported The Hall Homeless Support Project for a number of years and this was just one of many donations given to the charity this year to help homeless people who use the service at its Westfield Lane premises.
Karen said: “We’re so grateful for this kind donation from staff and students who have given so much over the last year.
“The money will go towards purchasing food for the Christmas lunch which is being held on Thursday for homeless people and those living in hostels, as well as further food parcels for the New Year.”
