Girls get on the road to fundraising
Students from Vision West Notts set the pace during a charity walk today.
A group of five hairdressing students took part in a fancy dress walk to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness today (3 October).
Aimee Powell, Sophie Ingleby, Jordan Johnson, Paige Smith and Katie Wood (not pictured) set off from The Academy - the college's hair and beauty training salon in Regent Street, Mansfield - at 11am and headed towards the Chesterfield Road campus.
Next on the map was the college’s Derby Road campus, where they stopped off to collect donations from students in the West One Diner. After this they headed back to The Academy.
Learner coach Lee Bunting, who helped the students to prepare for the walk, said: “The learners were very enthusiastic in organising this activity. It’s something they decided to do on their own and through this one activity they raised over £250 for the charities.
“In total we walked over five miles between the various college sites and I'm very proud of their top efforts.”
