Fashionable fundraising at college
West Nottinghamshire College students are taking to the catwalk next week to raise cash for an African adventure.
A fashion show is being held at the college’s Derby Road campus in Mansfield on Wednesday (23 February) to boost funds towards the Students’ Union Ghana Project.
This year will be the college’s third visit to Ghana, where students volunteer in local schools and orphanages. Each of the six students travelling to Africa in July are required to fund the two-week visit themselves – raising money throughout the year through a host of money-spinning events and activities.
The fashion show runs from 6.30pm to 10pm is open to the public, who can purchase clothing from high street brands such as Next, Gap, Monsoon, Wallis and others purchased at discounted prices after being modelled by students.
Tickets costing £5 per person can be purchased from the Students’ Union office, based in the West One diner at the Derby Road campus, or by contacting Sam Cooling-Severns on (01623) 627191 ext 8396 or emailing sam.cooling@wnc.ac.uk
