Retro cuisine at college cafe
Students at West Nottinghamshire College’s BAY6 Centre and coffee bar are rolling back the years next week with a selection of food from the 1970s and 80s.
Dishes which were dinner party favourites years ago will be celebrated at the centre on Woodhouse Road, Mansfield, from Monday 24 January.
Diners can sample French onion soup for just £1.50, followed by chicken Kiev and chips for only £3 or a beef steakwich for £2.40.
Puddings which are still a hit today are available for those with a sweet tooth in the shape of pineapple upside down cake, black forest gateau and Mississippi mud pie.
Food will be available from 10.00am to 2pm, with tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches also served during these times.
People can just turn up although parties of eight or more are advised to book a table on 01623 413027.
The BAY6 centre is open to the public for hot and cold refreshments and provides a practical training and working environment for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
