College to host 'Growing Lives' event
West Nottinghamshire College will be hosting an event aimed at encouraging young people in care to explore higher education opportunities at college.
The ‘Growing Lives’ event is being held at the college’s Derby Road campus next Wednesday (17 November) from 6-8pm.
Growing Lives is a series of events being staged across Nottinghamshire higher education institutions, designed to build confidence and skills for young people who are in care. The higher education advice sessions are being run in conjunction with AimHigher Nottinghamshire.
The information session at West Nottinghamshire College will provide attendees with information about the range of university-level courses on offer as well as the option to tour the facilities, meet current students and discuss funding options.
Childcare facilities will be on offer during the evening for young children accompanying family members and a dinner is included free of charge for people attending the event.
An additional Growing Lives event will be taking place on Tuesday 23 November at Nottingham Trent University’s Djanogly Centre on Clarendon Street, Nottingham.
