Fresh beginnings at West Notts College
The new academic year at West Notts kicks off with a fun-packed day at its annual freshers’ fair.
On Tuesday 14 September the college’s Derby Road campus will host fun activities such as archery and an inflatable assault course to test fitness and agility for new and returning students.
Students will be able to make their own fruit smoothies by pedal power with the ‘smoothy bike’ and representatives of organisations and companies such as DW Sports, Odeon cinema, the NHS and the volunteering organisation ‘V Involved’ will be on hand to inform students of their latest offers and initiatives.
Each student across all of the college’s curriculum areas will be given the chance to visit the Derby Road campus to take part in the many activities on offer throughout the day.
Learner voice co-ordinator Sue Harries said: “The freshers’ fair is one of the most eagerly-awaited events of the college calendar. It heralds the start of a new college year, where we get to meet lots of new students and introduce them to the extra-curricular activities on offer including the offers available through the Students’ Union, so they can truly make the most of their time at West Notts.”
Students will also be able to purchase tickets for the freshers’ party, which takes place on Wednesday 29 September at Liquid nightclub in Mansfield.
